There's more to your Prayer

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians:3:20&21)

This verse reveals the heart of GOD as a Father in a wonderful way. The Amplified version of this verse goes like this: Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]. It says that the Lord will exceed your expectations when He answers your prayers. Infact, His answer will exceed your desires, thoughts, hopes and dreams!! What a wonderful Father we have! So, whenever we pray He will not only answer what we prayed for, but give something extra along with it for free, unasked.

Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. (John:16:23&24). Jesus said that on receiving from GOD, our joy will be complete. Getting what we have asked for will make us happy, but getting what we have asked in addition to something which we have never asked will make our joy complete.

We see instances throughout the Bible where the Lord exceeded people's expectations while answering their prayers. Israelites prayed for deliverance and what did they get? They got their unpaid salary in full by getting tons of gold from the Egyptians along with the deliverance they had prayed for. Solomon prayed for wisdom and got it along with things that he never prayed for. We serve such a loving GOD. Raise your expectations from GOD in prayer and be blessed.
