And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. But his [sensible] wife said to him, If the Lord were pleased to kill us, He would not have received a burnt offering and a cereal offering from our hands, nor have shown us all these things or now have announced such things as these. (Judges:13:22&23)
Manoah and his wife had just encountered the Lord face to face. Manoah realizing that, is now afraid that they might die because they have seen GOD. For that his wife gives a sensible reply. If the Lord wanted to kill us He would have done so long before accepting our offerings and revealing about the birth of our son Samson. The Amplified Bible addresses Manoah’s wife as ‘sensible’. The church today or the believers in general need some sense or need to act sensible, especially when the whole world is under a turmoil in the name of COVID-19.
I say this because the religious spirits and human reasoning have sadly ignored the simple sensible understanding of the goodness of GOD. The Christian community is thrown into a dilemma as to the reason for the emergence of the Corona Virus. In most of the religious quarters, the deadly attack of the virus on human beings is attributed to GOD Himself. While majority of the Christians see it as an act of judgement from GOD, a few minority see it as an act of the devil, the author of sickness and death. I for one, certainly attribute it to the act of devil, albeit operating through the doorways opened to him by humans with evil intentions.
GOD is good. Period. He isn’t the author of sickness or any form of evil for that matter. When Jesus was on this earth, the disciples wanted to bring down fire from heaven to destroy human lives for which Jesus replied, ”Don’t you know what kind of spirit you are made of?” It doesn’t matter when religious people quote the so called “judgement acts” of GOD from the Old Testament to justify what is happening today. We are under a New Covenant and Jesus came to reveal the Father. Every act of Jesus on earth revealed the heart of Father and not in one instance did He advocate death or sickness. Jesus’ walk on earth proved that GOD is good. (Acts:10:38)
When people start to think GOD as the author of evil, they are empowering the liar, the devil. Everytime we plead GOD to have mercy on us and stop judging us, we are openly declaring the work of Jesus Christ on the cross to ascension as null and void, giving more dominion and authority to the devil. I pray that the Lord will open the eyes of revelation in each one of us to become more sensible and not to be deceived by the lies of the devil and the religious spirit. When we know GOD as our loving Father, who always wants to see goodness manifest in the life of His children, we are being empowered by the Word of GOD and the devil’s work is being nullified. The bridegroom wants a sensible bride like that of Manoah’s wife. The more, people become aware of GOD not being the author of COVID-19, the quicker the healing and restoration will manifest.
