“So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt. (Genesis:45:8)
What Joseph's brothers did to him was unforgivable. Well, atleast that's what we would think when we read about all that happened between him and his brothers. But, not to Joseph, he forgave them instantly, the moment he recognized them even though he kept it to himself at first. How is that even possible? Because Joseph is a man filled with the Spirit of GOD and he had discernment and wisdom. Not only did he forgive them, but even goes on to say that it was not them who had sent him to Egypt. When in reality it was indeed them. It implies that Joseph not only forgave but went one step further and forgot the harm that his brothers had caused. He realized that even though his brothers intended to do harm, GOD had turned it around for good. This is an important lesson we need to learn as believers.
We live in a fallen world and yes there will be people who may trick us and do us harm intentionally or non-intentionally. Sometimes, it maybe a person from our own family, a friend or a co-worker. As a believer, when we feel cheated, tricked, outwitted or deceived its imperative we discard even the slightest thoughts of revenge. Thinking about getting back at that person or having a laugh when something bad happens to them - let us be far from that. Jesus wouldn't want us to behave that way. Instead, take it to GOD and leave it to Him. For He is the balm of Gilead and he will heal our hearts. And don't worry, GOD knows a thing or two about turning every bad thing to work out for our good in the end.
Blessings!
