Nothing but the Blood

Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed: Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you. (Deuteronomy: 16:16,17)

No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed. It was during the Old Testament times so should we just ignore it now that we are living under the New covenant? Jesus said that he didn't come to abandon the Law but to fulfill it. He paved a way for us to meet God with something precious in our hands every time we seek him. It's nothing but the Blood of Jesus. We read in Hebrews 10:19-22 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God,let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Not only that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God pleading our case 24x7 as we read in I John: 2:1&2. My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. Draw near to Him today knowing that all your past, present and future sins have been paid for and you are redeemed!
