Problems precede Promotion

..and he sent a man before them— Joseph, sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons, till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the Lord proved him true. (Psalms:105:17-19)

Have you felt frustrated being at a place, position or situation which you have been comfortable for so long but not anymore? Maybe, it's your job or a relationship or a place that you have been living for so long, but now suddenly you have this strange feeling that you don't want to be there anymore. Your heart is longing for a change and you wish to break the shackles and break free. Fear not! It's your 'metamorphosis' moment. A butterfly experiences this frustration at its final stage of metamorphosis. But what it doesn't know is the beautiful transformation it's being getting into. The process of transformation is tough especially at its final stage inside the cocoon, but it's worth it.

In our life too, when the Lord is going to take us to higher ground or a promotion rather, we undergo this metamorphosis phase. If you hadn't been there, you wouldn't understand it. It's a frustrating feeling you couldn't explain or understand, but all you want is to break free, mind you, I am not referring to the desire you get to break free from an addiction or an act of sin. The Lord decides to shift us when we are ready for an expansion in our life. When the current position that we have been in, has squeezed us to the maximum and we don't have nothing else to offer, it's time for a change.

The life of Joseph is an apt example. We read in Genesis:39:4-6 "Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate". Joseph had reached the tip of the pyramid in Potiphar's house and the Lord decided it's time for a change. And it happened in an unusual way,(as it's often the case with GOD) in the form of Potiphar's wife who tempted him daily. I believe at some point Joseph would have gotten frustrated (metamorphosis moment) and wished all this would change sooner or later. He is a slave, remember, so he can't run away. Many of you can relate yourself to that situation Joseph finds himself in. You really want to get away but you can't. We knew the rest of the story. Joseph was wrongly accused and sent to jail where he encountered another metamorphosis moment (second in command to the jailer) and was elevated to be the Prime Minister of Egypt. Always remember, in your metamorphosis process when problems abound, promotion is around the corner.

Blessings!
