Prayer for Corona

Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” (Matthew:14:16) If we can rephrase this verse for today, "Jesus replied."They do not need to die. You give them healing"

The disciples were facing a crisis similar to the one that the world is facing right now. The world is reeling under the deadly Corona virus and people have shut themselves inside their homes. A cure is yet to be found, though the world of medicine is working relentlessly to provide one so that thousands of lives can be saved. So, what is the role of the believer in a situation such as this? While prayer is one thing that we can do, it needs to be done right. It’s already been few months and in spite of the amount of prayers that’s been offered there is no stopping the plague. So, something is wrong. We are not doing something right. This plague is not from GOD and healing is His perfect will. So, I have been praying for the Lord to reveal the cure that the world needs right now, so that it can be stopped immediately. Sounds impossible? But not with our GOD. With these thoughts running over my mind, the Lord brought the above miracle to my attention. I believe this miracle contains the secret to stop the plague and restore the world to what it was before.

Jesus could have brought food from anywhere miraculously and fed the thousands but He didn’t. GOD always works with the co-operation of His sons and daughters and not on His own. That’s why He asked the disciples to provide, expecting them to turn back to Him for counsel or go one step further and use the power that had been given to them. They didn’t do neither of those, instead reasoned with their mind on how to feed the thousands. Even today, the Lord is ready to stop the plague but He is looking for His people to seek Him for a cure or use the healing power that have been made available to them.

Finally, how did the crisis got solved? It took a boy’s act of sacrifice. The five loaves and two fish were multiplied in the hands of Jesus and the multitudes were fed. Jesus took those, gave thanks and fed the people. What can we offer today? Healing. The healing that we have can be given into the hands of the Lord with thanksgiving and ask Him to inject the healing into the bodies of those affected. Before you say this prayer, I request you read this passage again and again until you have a revelation from the Lord. When you’re done with it and your faith is quickened, please say this payer. Heavenly Father, I lift the healing that is found in my body to you. I thank you and I pray that you will take this healing, multiply it and inject it into the bodies of those affected by the deadly Corona Virus. Thank you for healing them. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Take Jesus for a Ride

As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’” Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.” (Luke:19:29-34)

The above passage is self explanatory. The point that I want to stress here is that when the Lord needs something or someone, it had to be given over to Him. No matter who owns it or has authority over it. The colt in this passage had an owner and he didn't say a word when the disciples untied the colt and said that the Lord needs it. What a powerful GOD we serve!

You may be like the colt, tied up in a place by your owner and been trained for something that you really didn't want to do. Cheer up. You are being groomed to take Jesus for a ride through the streets. You are being prepared to carry the glorious King on your back into the streets for all the people to see. Hallelujah! Without its knowledge for this moment the colt had been prepared for all through its life. You may find yourself in a place tied up and couldn't break free inspite of your every effort. Just relax and trust the Lord. He will send the required people, not only to loosen you but to use you to bring glory to His name. You may say, but what about my boss or owner? I am under a contract and cannot leave just like that. That's what the colt must have thought. But when the Lord needs you, what say does the owner have over you? He just have to obey and let you go. Get ready to take Jesus for a ride on your back!

Restriction Relaxed

The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals. There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt. (Isaiah:11:15&16)

I was meditating this verse a couple of days ago and I felt strongly that the Lord was saying about a "restriction that's going to come or already there, will be relaxed" and we will navigate through. Just like Isaiah prophesied above where the mighty Euphrates river that was before the Israelites will be broken up into seven streams, so that the people can return back to Israel. Whatever that is restricting you from moving forward or getting back to where you were supposed to be, the Lord is going to break that restriction into seven pieces with a scorching wind. Amen!

I am not talking about the restriction that the whole world is kept under right now in the name of "Corona virus". It too will be broken, depending on how quick the people of GOD acts. Not just sitting in our houses and praying alone is enough. We have to be bold enough and if we come across anyone with corona infection or symptoms, lay our hands on them and heal them. I know its easier said than done. I don't know what I myself will do if I come across such a situation. I am praying that I will start to step out of the boat and trust the Lord to back me up. But the church as one body and every individual within it, has the power to stop the plague. The church need to realize the truth. But before we fight the virus, we need to be aware that it is not sent by the Lord to punish the nations for its evil doings. No, GOD is GOOD and he is not the author of any disease. It's from the devil. Many believers are happy that such a plague had come, thinking that it's the last days and we are one step closer for the world to end. Such a thinking is not from the Lord.

David realized the power that was working within him and that's why the moment he encountered Goliath, he knew that he can be taken down. Did the church realize the moment corona virus became pandemic, that it is just another Goliath that can be taken down? I don't think so. Let us seek the Lord fervently for answers and move forward in faith in stopping this pandemic.

Get Connected

The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. (1 Kings:3:10-13)

Have you ever wondered after you have prayed, "Did I cover everything in my prayer?" Did I pray for protection, insurance, finance, blessings, healing etc.? Did I miss something out? When things doesn't go according to plan, the first thing that springs to our mind would be, "Damn, if only I had prayed for this before, I wouldn't have found myself in this situation." While part of this maybe true, it's not always the case. Prayer is not just a way to bypass problems in our life. Yes, with prayer we can avoid certain unwanted problems and face them with confidence but that's not the sole intention of our prayers should be. The question is not asking ourselves, have I covered everything in my prayer but have I connected every being of mine with the Lord when I prayed?

Yes, there is a big difference between the two above mentioned thoughts. First and foremost, prayer is about connection. Connecting our being with the Lord. If that doesn't happen, but we just utter words out of our mouth or even quote some of His promises and walk away, satisfied that we have prayed effectively, we are wrong. Prayer begins when our spirit begins to communicate with the Lord after we become fully aware of His presence. That's why many men of GOD talks about starting our prayer time with worship. Worship brings us the awareness of the Lord's presence that we tend to lose because of the cares of the world. In 1 Kings:3 verses 6 and 7 tells us that Solomon was fully aware of the presence of GOD (in fact he had just completed an act of worship by offering a thousand burnt offerings) as he talks about the goodness of GOD in his life. You won't be aware of His presence if you aren't aware of His goodness in your life. It's that awareness and the connection that Solomon had established with the Lord, made him to ask just for a heart of wisdom among many other things. The Lord was well pleased and granted him everything that Solomon didn't even thought of asking. Solomon's connection with the Lord in prayer enabled him to ask just one thing that covered every area of his life. Let's cultivate such a prayer life with our loving Father.

Bolder not Older (Son)

Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. (Luke:15:25)

This is a well known story from Luke 15 about the prodigal son. The prodigal son has returned home and his Father throws out a grand party with singing and dancing in the house. Totally unaware of this, the older son who has stayed loyal to his Father all these years returns home and was taken aback by the reception that's been given to his rebellious brother. It doesn't go down well with him and with resentment he refuses to enter the house demanding an explanation from his Father.

In verse 29 & 30, the older son says to his Father "‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!" That's how many of us are even today in the body of Christ. We have been secretly desiring for at least an young goat but we don't have the boldness or courage to ask GOD Himself. Instead, we wait and wait hoping that He will understand and give it as a reward for all the religious work that we do for Him. In the meantime, someone else gets the blessing that we wished for and we get angry at GOD. No, that's not the mentality that a son should have towards his father. Let's see the Father's response to his older son who is still standing outside the house. “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. (Luke:15:31) Did you get it? Everything that our heavenly Father has is ours. All we need to do is ask or even take it by faith. We won't move into that level of boldness unless we have a revelation about the love of our heavenly Father. When we do that, our level of relationship with Him increases and we end up living a life worthy of a son of GOD that we are called to be, just like Jesus did.

Sense His Presence

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me. (Psalms:23:4)

This is one of the well known psalms from the Bible. There are times in our life where we may feel alien to the presence of GOD or rather we lose the awareness of His presence in our lives. David was in such situations more often than not and if there is a person who could help us navigate such tough times, he is the one.

When we look at this verse in depth, we could learn about three phases of tough times that David went through. Deep, sunless (darkness) and the valley of the shadow of death. We couldn't possibly think of any other circumstances other than these three, where it is difficult to believe in GOD, I mean, it is even difficult to believe in the very existence of GOD. But, what about David? Let's read further. He says that he didn't fear any evil for the Lord was with Him. Whaattt? How can he say that even when he was in a deep pit, full of darkness and running for his own life? It is the awareness of the Lord's presence, that puts David in such a fearless and courageous position to make this confession. David was always conscious of the presence of the Lord as we read in Psalms:16:8 "I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken."

We are called to emulate David in that regard. When tough situations arise and we lose sight of GOD, know that before we could search for Him, He is out there searching for us. To pull us back into the fold. He loves us so much, that He would leave behind the ninety nine to find the lost one. All we have to do is look out for Him and not to doubt Him when things don't go according to the plan.

Blessings!
